An artist book project based on a conceptual text: The collection of
about 200 descriptive or definitory sentences analysing the existence
of a simple line drawing of a square focuses on the relationship of the
abstract concept ‘square’ and its material equivalent, the concrete
drawing, ink on paper.
The photographs associated provide a
biographical path for the text to develop. In its search for a change
of perspective or standpoint, or literary way of referring to the
object, the writing connects to a general idea of a horizontal
progression across different disciplines that use the sign /square/
in various ways, it engages into an expansion or diversification of the
understanding of a perceptual reality. [Work in progress.]
